Joseph Teller has completed an internationally recognized Yoga Teacher Training, and is certified to teach by The Yoga Alliance. To the practice and teaching of yoga asanas, he brings the centeredness, balance, and simplicity derived from sitting meditation. Joseph began his experience with meditation retreats some 25 years ago, and has practiced sitting meditation within the Tibetan, Southeast Asian, and Zen traditions of Buddhism.

| He has an M.A in Engaged Buddhism from The Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and has undertaken rigorous professional training as a Spiritual Counselor in hospital settings, including a year at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. He is certified as a Spiritual Counselor through the National Hospice Organization, and in this capacity has companioned many individuals through the dying process, and many families through bereavement. His counseling work with a well-respected hospice in Tucson was known for its compassion and insight. He is gifted in the art of assisting others in recognizing their spiritual strengths, their deepest truths, and their most authentic selves.
Joseph lives in the mountain village of San Miguel Amatlan, in the state of Oaxaca, with his family, where he is facilitating retreats, learning traditional agricultural techniques, and making pottery with the local clay. He is fascinated by the blending of cultures of all types, and is delighted to be living in Amatlan.

 Elisa Cota grew up in the uniquely beautiful desert lands of Southern Baja, Mexico; her family has lived there for generations, practicing subsistence ranching and agriculture. She has a profound love and appreciation for the natural world, its creatures, skies, and weather. She is an avid student of both yoga and meditation, and brings a peacefulness and contemplative presence to all her activities. As well as leading some retreat classes, she has begun a yoga and meditation class for the village women, and is a teacher in Amatlan’s primary school.
